Artwork Guidelines
Clear. Accurate. Print Ready.
At BrandMarque, we aim to produce your order efficiently and avoid any additional costs or delays, please follow the artwork requirements outlined below.
If your artwork isn’t in a format suitable for customisation, we can convert (re-draw) it for you for a £20.00 fee. We’ll always inform you first and request your approval before carrying out any work.
Preferred File Types— AI & EPS Vectors
Vector Illustrator (AI) and EPS files are the ideal formats for customisation. Unlike bitmap images such as JPGs, vectors maintain perfect clarity when zoomed in — no pixelation, no fuzzy edges. Bitmaps, on the other hand, become blocky and distorted when enlarged.
Please avoid saving a bitmap image as an AI or EPS file; it will still behave like a bitmap and won’t be suitable for production. In such cases, the artwork may need to be professionally redrawn, which would incur an additional fee.
Pantone Spot Colours
For best results, all colours in your artwork should be set as Pantone spot colours. Most design software, including Illustrator, allows you to select individual colours and convert them to their Pantone equivalents.
Using spot colours is essential for screenprinting, as each colour is printed separately. Providing artwork with colours already separated ensures a smoother workflow, greater accuracy, and a more efficient printing process.
Fonts — Convert Text to Outlines/Paths
Any text in your artwork must be converted to outlines (also called paths or curves, depending on the software). This turns the font into a graphic shape, ensuring it appears exactly as you designed it.
If text isn’t outlined and we don’t have the same font installed, the artwork may display incorrectly. Converting to outlines guarantees your typography stays accurate and consistent.
Bitmap Files— TIF & PSD
If you submit bitmap files such as TIF or PSD, they must be at the actual print size or larger and have a resolution of at least 300dpi.
Each colour should be placed on a separate layer to make printing easier. This method is not preferred and may incur additional charges if we need to adjust the file.
Please note: bitmap files are not suitable for CAD cutting.
Adobe PDF Files
PDFs are acceptable provided they are created from vector artwork and remain fully editable.
Avoid converting bitmap images into PDFs, as they will still behave like a bitmap and may require redrawing, which could incur an additional fee.
Accepted File Types & Embroidery Fees
We accept high-resolution JPG, BMP, TIF, EPS, and AI files, as long as the artwork is clear and sharp. For first-time embroidery orders, there is a one-time £15.00+VAT fee to convert logos or graphics into embroidery format (digitising).
Once digitised, your design will be saved for all future orders.
For embroidery that includes text only, a £5.00+VAT set-up fee applies.
